Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Fresh cut strawberries, orange peel, almond and shortbread compliment luscious bubbles.
Vineyard Notes
Estate vineyard 1.5 acres, hand tended, mechanical weeding (no herbicides), compost tea applications, cane and cordon pruning applied. characterized by the layer of white hairs on the underside of the leaves that look like a dusting of flour, hence the name Meunier, meaning 'miller' in French. Meunier's early budding and ripening attribute to the obviously fruity palate and its reliably over Pinot noir.
Production Notes
Champanoise Méthode
Winemaker Notes
Base wine produced to retain fruit esters. Tirage solution added, riddled and aged for 2 years.
Food Pairing Notes
Salmon; mushroom, asparagus, and prosciutto pasta, roasted duck with cranberry chutney, strawberry, pecan, feta and mixed greens salad.
Other Notes
Burgundian origin and a mutation of pinot noir. Meunier ripens and buds early making it an excellent candidate for high quality cool climate wines. If you've been dreaming of a beautifully crafted wine, you just found it.
