Vineyard Notes
Woodenfish vineyard is found in the heart of the Leelanau Peninsula AVA. The vineyard is hand-tended using high standard canopy management practices to ensure the highest quality of grapes.
Winemaker Notes
Our acid levels are a little higher for a traditional Alsatian style Gris, but the pH is a bit higher due to extended lees aging which adds to its medium body and creamy palate which more truly emulates the Gris style.
Food Pairing Notes
White meat: fish (perch/trout), scallops; Salty veggies: Asparagus; Semi-soft cheese like Grana Padano.
Production
The grapes were given three hours of skin contact. Fermentation stopped at 0.4 brix giving the wine volume. Four months sur lie aging.
